به گزارش تلگراف، یک حمله تروریستی مشکوک به ایران چند ساعت تا شروع در خاک بریتانیا فاصله داشت.
پنج مرد، از جمله چهار تبعه ایرانی، روز شنبه در مکان‌هایی در سراسر انگلستان دستگیر شدند که وزیر کشور آن را یکی از بزرگترین عملیات‌های ضد تروریستی در سال‌های اخیر توصیف کرد.
مشخص است که مقامات نگران بودند که حمله به یک «مکان خاص» قریب‌الوقوع باشد.
پلیس مبارزه با تروریسم سه مرد ایرانی دیگر را در لندن به عنوان بخشی از یک عملیات جداگانه دستگیر کرد، زیرا نگران بود که آنها پس از حملات دیگر، بریتانیا را ترک کنند یا شواهد حیاتی علیه خود را از بین ببرند.
آنها تحت اختیارات اعطا شده توسط قانون امنیت ملی دستگیر شدند، که به مأموران اجازه می‌دهد در صورت ظن منطقی به افراد در مورد دست داشتن در «فعالیت تهدید قدرت خارجی»، افراد را دستگیر کنند.
شبه یکشنبه شب گمانه‌زنی‌هایی مبنی بر اینکه هدف ممکن است یک کنیسه یا هدف دیگری مرتبط با جامعه یهودیان بوده باشد، افزایش یافت.
روز یکشنبه، پلیس متروپولیتن اعلام کرد که در حال بررسی این موضوع هستند که آیا خطر بیشتری برای عموم وجود دارد یا خیر.
ایوت کوپر، وزیر کشور، در بیانیه‌ای در شب یکشنبه گفت: «این دو عملیات بزرگ، منعکس کننده برخی از بزرگترین تهدیدات ضد دولتی و عملیات ضد تروریستی هستند که در سال‌های اخیر دیده‌ایم.»
وی در پاسخ به سوالی در مورد ارتباط احتمالی با دولت ایران گفت: «اینها عملیات‌های بزرگی هستند که انجام شده‌اند و تحقیقات جاری بسیار مهم است و البته شامل اتباع ایرانی در هر دو تحقیق می‌شود و ما از پلیس و سازمان‌های امنیتی در تحقیقاتی که انجام می‌دهند و ارزیابی‌های امنیتی که انجام می‌دهند، حمایت می‌کنیم.»
همسایه‌ها مردانی را توصیف کردند که ماسک زده و اسلحه به دست، مردی بدون پیراهن را به بیرون هدایت می‌کردند و سپس به او می‌گفتند «روی زمین بایست».
یکشنبه شب، درخواست‌های جدیدی از حزب کارگر برای تحریم سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی ایران مطرح شد.
با وجود اینکه حزب کارگر در مخالفت با تحریم سپاه پاسداران قول داده بود، اما هنوز این کار را نکرده است.
تلگراف مطلع شده است که مقامات وزارت امور خارجه پیش از این با این اقدام مخالفت کرده‌اند، زیرا این امر مانع از حفظ کانال ارتباطی بریتانیا با ایران می‌شود، کانالی که توسط ایالات متحده نیز مورد استفاده قرار می‌گیرد.
نایجل فاراژ، رهبر حزب اصلاحات بریتانیا، گفت: «سپاه پاسداران باید سال‌ها پیش تحریم می‌شد، بدون هیچ شکی. دوستان من که در خاورمیانه زندگی می‌کنند، از اینکه ما این کار را نکرده‌ایم، شگفت‌زده هستند.»
روز یکشنبه، لوک آکهرست، نماینده مجلس از شمال دورهام از حزب کارگر، گفت: «این موضوع به فوریت تحریم سپاه پاسداران به عنوان یک سازمان تروریستی می‌افزاید. حزب کارگر زمانی که ما در اپوزیسیون بودیم، خواستار تحریم سپاه پاسداران شد. من از وزرا می‌خواهم که اکنون برای تحریم این سازمان خطرناک ایرانی اقدام کنند.»
سخنگوی وزارت کشور گفت که آنها با توجه به آخرین تهدید تروریستی، در مورد تحریم سپاه پاسداران گمانه‌زنی نخواهند کرد.
تنش‌های فزاینده بین ایران و غرب
این اتفاق در بحبوحه افزایش هشدارها در مورد توطئه‌های تحت حمایت ایران در بریتانیا رخ می‌دهد.
سال گذشته، کن مک‌کالوم، مدیر کل MI5، گفت که سازمان او و پلیس از ژانویه ۲۰۲۲ به ۲۰ توطئه تحت حمایت ایران واکنش نشان داده‌اند.
در مارس ۲۰۲۴، پوریا زراعتی، روزنامه‌نگار شبکه ایرانی «ایران اینترنشنال» مستقر در لندن، هنگام نزدیک شدن به ماشینش با چاقو مورد اصابت قرار گرفت.
پس از بررسی شواهد ارائه شده توسط فرماندهی مبارزه با تروریسم پلیس متروپولیتن، دو تبعه رومانیایی در رابطه با این حمله متهم شده‌اند.
در محل حمله راچدیل، همسایه امی اوپنشاو گفت که در هنگام ورود ماموران به داخل ملک و دویدن فرزندانش به داخل، «صدای جیغ زیادی» شنیده شده است.
او گفت: «بچه‌ها در باغ بودند و به سمت من دویدند و گفتند که مردانی با کلاه ایمنی، ماسک و اسلحه بیرون هستند.»
«من بیرون آمدم و به من گفته شد که به داخل برگردم. ما به طبقه بالا رفتیم. و من فقط صدای انفجار مهیبی شنیدم. یا صدای رعد و برق بود یا اینکه آنها در را با ضربات محکم از جا کندند.»
یکی دیگر از ساکنان گفت که روز شنبه هنگام بازگشت به خانه‌اش «ماموران مسلح» را دیده است و یکی از آنها به او گفته است که «به خانه‌اش برگردد».
دستگیری‌های روز شنبه در بحبوحه تنش‌های شدید بین ایران و غرب رخ داد.

A suspected Iranian terror attack was hours away from being launched on British soil, The Telegraph understands.
Five men, including four Iranian nationals, were arrested at locations across England on Saturday in what the Home Secretary described as one of the biggest counter-terror operations in recent years.
It is understood that authorities feared the attack on a “specific premises” was imminent.
Counter-terror police arrested a further three Iranian men in London as part of a separate operation, fearing they would leave the UK or destroy critical evidence against them after the other raids.
They were arrested under powers granted by the National Security Act, which allows officers to make arrests if they reasonably suspect individuals of being involved in “foreign power threat activity”.
Speculation mounted on Sunday night that the target may have been a synagogue or another target linked to the Jewish community.
On Sunday, the Metropolitan Police said they were working to identify whether there may be any further risk to the public.

In a statement on Sunday night, Yvette Cooper, the Home Secretary, said: “These were two major operations that reflect some of the biggest counter-state threats and counter terrorism operations that we have seen in recent years.”
Asked about possible links to the Iranian state, she said: “These are major operations that have taken place and the ongoing investigation is immensely important, and of course it involves Iranian nationals in both investigations and we are supporting the police and the security agencies in the investigations that they are taking and the security assessments that they are doing.”
Dramatic footage showed armed officers at one raid on a property in Rochdale.
Neighbours described men with masks and guns leading a shirtless man outside before telling him to “get on the floor”.
On Sunday night, there were renewed calls for Labour to proscribe Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Despite having pledged in opposition to ban the organisation, Labour has yet to do so.

The Telegraph understands that Foreign Office officials have previously opposed the move because it would prevent the UK from maintaining its backchannel to Iran, which is also used by the United States.
Nigel Farage, the Reform UK leader, said: “The IRGC should have been proscribed years ago, without a shadow of a doubt. Friends of mine who live in the Middle East are astonished we haven’t done it.”
On Sunday, Luke Akehurst, the Labour MP for North Durham, said: “This adds to the urgency for the IRGC to be proscribed as a terrorist organisation. Labour called for the proscription of the IRGC when we were in opposition. I urge ministers to act on banning this dangerous Iranian organisation now.”
A Home Office spokesman said they would not speculate on proscription of the IRGC in light of the latest terror threat.
Heightened tensions between Iran and the West
It comes amid increased warnings about Iranian-backed plots in the UK.
Last year, Ken McCallum, the director general of MI5, said his organisation and police had responded to 20 Iran-backed plots since January 2022.
In March 2024, Pouria Zeraati, a journalist for London-based Iranian outfit Iran International, was stabbed as he approached his car.
Two Romanian nationals have since been charged in relation to the attack, following a review of evidence provided by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.
At the scene of the Rochdale raid, neighbour Amy Openshaw said there was “lots of screaming” as officers burst into the property and her children came running inside.
She said: “The children were out in the garden and they came running in to me saying there’s men with helmets, masks and guns outside,” she said.
“I have come out and I got told to go back inside. We went upstairs. And I just heard a massive bang. Either a flash bang or them blowing the door off.”
Another resident said he saw “officers carrying guns” as he returned to his home on Saturday, with one telling him to “get back” into his house.
Saturday’s arrests took place amid heightened tensions between Iran and the West.
