روزنامه نیویورک پست مطلع شده است که فعالان و یک برنده جایزه نوبل از دانشگاه ایوی لیگ (Ivy League school) خواستند تا سخنرانی یک استاد جنجالی ایرانی را که آنها او را به ترویج تروریسم و حمایت از فتوا علیه سلمان رشدی متهم می کند، لغو کند.

دوشنبه، سید حسین موسویان، کارشناس امنیت خاورمیانه در پرینستون، قرار است در جلسه
«اسرائیل و ایران: آینده خاورمیانه» در سالن هالدمن دارتموث به عنوان اولین
سخنران، سخنرانی کند.
مخالفان رژیم
ایران در آمریکا و اروپا خواهان لغو این مراسم هستند و با اشاره به سابقه فعالیت
موسویان از طرف رژیم ایران و ارتباط ادعایی او با اقدامات تروریستی و کشته شدن
چهار ناراضی کرد در برلین در سال 1992 به دست حزب الله اشاره می کنند.
مخالفان همچنین موسویان را به لابی گری برای حکومت کنونی ایران متهم می کنند. اتهامی که او آن را رد می کند.
روز جمعه، شیرین عبادی، قاضی سابق ایرانی که در سال ۲۰۰۳ برنده جایزه صلح نوبل شد، در پستی در تلگرام نوشت: «ابزار گفتمانی» جمهوری اسلامی می تواند به اندازه سلاح های مرگبار خطرناک باشد.

Activists and a Nobel Laureate are demanding an Ivy League
school cancel a panel featuring a controversial Iranian professor who they
accuse of promoting terrorism and supporting the fatwa against author Salman
Rushdie, The Post has learned.
Seyed Hossein Mousavian, a Middle East security expert at
Princeton, is scheduled to headline the panel “Israel and Iran: The Future of
the Middle East” at Dartmouth’s Haldeman Hall Monday evening.
Opponents of the Iranian regime in the US and Europe want
the event cancelled, noting Mousavian’s past working on behalf of the Iranian
regime and alleged ties to terror acts and the deaths of four Kurdish
dissidents in Berlin in 1992 at the hands of Hezbollah.
Detractors also accuse Mousavian of being a lobbyist for
the current Iranian government, which he denies.
“The ‘discursive tools’ of the Islamic Republic can be as
dangerous as deadly weapons,” wrote Shirin Ebadi, a former Iranian judge who
won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2003, in a post on Telegram Friday.
